The Measurement Worksheet
Print this page, grab your tape measure, and write every window down — room, width, height, depth, mount type. A written worksheet is the single cheapest insurance against a wrong order.

The four rules before you pick up the tape
These are the condensed version of the full measuring guide and the seven measuring mistakes guide. Follow them at every window and the worksheet fills itself.
- Measure each dimension THREE times — top, middle, bottom for width; left, center, right for height — and write down the SMALLEST of each.
- Inches only, fractions written as fractions (35-3/8″ — never 35.375″, never centimeters).
- For an inside mount, measure jamb to jamb inside the frame — the trim around the window doesn't count.
- Check depth on every window: an inside mount needs at least 1-3/4″ of clear depth for the 3″ Z-frame. Less than that means an outside mount.
- Label every window as you go: "master bedroom, left" not "window 4." Future-you will not remember which was which.

Measure width and height three times each and record the smallest of each. Inside mount needs ≥ 1-3/4″ clear depth. Match every window to the size chart before you order.
Before you order — the five-minute double-check
- Every row has a width and a height in inches, written as the smallest of three measurements.
- Depth is recorded on every window, and any window under 1-3/4″ is marked OUTSIDE mount.
- Every window's measurements match a real size on the size chart — the order sheet will flag anything that doesn't, with guidance.
- Every window has a room label you can find blindfolded: "guest bath" beats "window 9."
- No decimals, no centimeters, no "about" numbers — if a value came from memory, re-measure it now.
